VATN (Vertically Aligned Twisted Nematic) is a type of LCD technology in which liquid crystal molecules are vertically aligned when powered off, resulting in an ultra-deep black background. When powered on, the molecules rotate to align with the direction of the polarizer, producing a high-contrast white or colored display. Compared to traditional TN LCDs, VATN displays offer superior contrast, wider viewing angles, excellent visual uniformity, and long-term stability. Striking a strong balance between performance and cost, VATN is an ideal alternative to TN and STN displays—especially for applications where readability and display consistency are critical.
